Charlie Thompson and Susan Lankford-Thompson have been playing together since their second date over 15 years ago.
Meet Charlie
Charlie Thompson picked up his first stringed instrument at 13. He is a multi-instrumentalist with 30+ years of live performance and recording experience with several regional and national acts (including Henry Lee Summer, Wonderdrug, Permacrush, Fly Paper Blues, Dead Mr. Sunshine, Stella Luna, and 40 Watts). He plays acoustic/electric guitar and Bass VI and sings backing vocals with a cool, mellow groove that is sure to please the live music enthusiasts and taproom regulars alike.
Meet Susan
Susan grew up in a musical family. She remembers sitting at the piano with her Mom before she remembers learning to read, and life has been a musical journey ever since.
Susan started in classical music and attended the world-renowned Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, but the sounds of bluegrass that linger in the hills of southern Indiana pulled her in another direction. She picked up several stringed instruments and joined the Sanders Family Band, where she played mandolin and accordion. (Because every old-timey group needs the occasional accordion solo, right?)
Today, Susan plays guitar, handles lead vocals in the LoudFlowers Band, and is the primary writer of the duo’s original songs.
